    Description

    This exact book
was used by Charles Shows in the production of the 1950's TV series
    The Adventures of TinTin
. Throughout the book are notes on what to use in the TV episodes called
    Objective Moon 1 and 2
airing in France in 1959. Most all of Charles other work was right her in the US. Read below for just a small outline of his amazing work.
Needless to say this is a 1st edition and I'm fairly sure its a 1st printing based on its use in the 1959 TV series and being the final title on the back cover.
    Who is Charles Shows?
    Charles Woodrow Shows
was mostly an American television writer, but also producer, and composer. What connection do
Bozo the Clown, Gort the Robot from The Day The Earth Stood Still
    , and
    Los Angeles television station KTLA
have with a trilogy of Disney space shows? Charles Shows. In the book Charles Shows wrote,
Walt: Backstage Adventures with Walt Disney (1980)
, he writes, Walt was impressed with his writing on the popular Time for Beany puppet program and thought Shows was better than any of the writers Walt had currently working on his staff so he personally hired him. According to Shows, he was the only one with the courage during a story meeting on director Jack Kinney’s proposal for a possible Tomorrowland segment to speak up and suggest that Walt should go in a different direction.
    Shows also wrote e
pisodes of the syndicated animated series
Bozo: The World’s Most Famous Clown

    Popeye the Sailor
    in 1960,
    The Magical World of Disney
    in 1964,
    The Banana Splits
    in 1968,
    The World, Color it Happy
    in 1967,
    The Ruff and Reddy Show
    1957-1960,
    The Huckleberry Hound Show
    1958-1959,
    Pixie and Dixie
    , 1958,
    Droopy Leprechaun
    , 1958,
    Time for Beany
    1949-1952,
    The Adventures of Patches
    1951,
    The Stu Erwin Show
    1950-1951,
    Ratchet Squad
    1951,
    Speaking of Animals
shorts between 1941 and 1949 and so much more.
    He also created
    Yogi the Bear
    and wrote for
    Hanna-Barbera
cartoons in the 1950s and 1960s.
And believe it or not he was also the grandfather of
    Anthony Robbins
the motivational speaker, author, coach, and philanthropist.
This book has been in my mothers collection for nearly 40 years. It was donated to a local charity after Shows passing in 2001. Its her understanding that it was part of his personal estate but no further provenance is offered.
