    James "Jim" Irwin (1930-1991) was an American astronaut. He was selected by NASA in 1966 and served as Lunar Module pilot (LMP) on Apollo 15. Irwin became the 8th man to walk on the moon. He was the first of the twelve moonwalkers to die (1991).
