inscribed by Apollo 14 Lunar Module Pilot and test pilot, Edgar Mitchell, with a dramatic hand-written, personal account of his experiences!

We were test pilots, absorbed in our work and
oblivious to the barren landscape around us.
The men and women I was surrounded by
were simply exciting to be around. In this
respect, I fit in, as this was serious research
and development; we were in the process
of making aircraft do things they were not designed
to do. But occasionally a pillar of black smoke
rising from the desert floor, would point out
that someone might not be coming home
that night.
