Skylab Astronaut Bill Pogue!
Air Force Colonel Bill Pogue was a Group 5 NASA Astronaut Selection.
He was the pilot on the Skylab 4 Flight launched on May 14, 1973, and splashdown on February 8
th
, 1974, some 270 days in space that was not matched for 20 years.
He passed away at age 84 from natural causes in 2014 but his legacy for pioneering long term space flight endures.
Item for sale is from his personal collection I obtained before his passing.
This is a space flown decal from the “Peanuts” creator, Charles Schultz.
The decals were color coded and affixed to tissue dispensers, pantry drawers and most personal items.
The decal itself measures one inch by ½ inch and includes an 8 x 10” page explaining the history of the decal.
Pogue also signed as authenticity with space flow ink.
This is #7 of 25 that he sold.
It is the only one I have for sale, so this is an opportunity to obtain a space flown item that travelled more than 100 million miles and orbited the earth some 4,320 times!
