STS 41-B * JSA * Bruce McCandless Certified Flown Flag & Patch Autograph Signed

Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-41-B) Flown American Flag and Embroidered Mission Insignia Patch in Signed Presentation Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Specialist Bruce McCandless II. A 5.5" x 4" cloth U.S. flag and a 6" x 3.75" mission patch double matted with the famous photo of McCandless floating in space with the Manned Maneuvering Unit he helped develop and a touchdown photo. This was originally meant to be presented to "The Embassy of the United States of America, Lusaka" by McCandless and NASA. A handsome presentation. Both items the flag and patch are flight certified by McCandless with his signature on the presentation.
Sale includes accompanying original LOA from the highly-respected JSA (James Spence Authentication) who have thoroughly examined the autograph and certify its authenticity.
Some discoloration to mating, bumped edges, curling to photo, and the paper which the flag and patch are mounted to is slightly bowed. Overall display measures approx. 16"x20".
